Hwy. 21’s Sign Gets a Facelift

Hwy. 21’s iconic and massive “Carey Hilliard’s” Pylon Sign is being totally rebuilt.  Only the Pylons and sheet metal will remain. 

The Sign will feature new: neon, transformers, and most notably, replacing the yellow Arrow-bulbs to 3 solid strokes (lines) of neon – giving the sign a more streamlined look.

Also, this is the BIG opportunity we’ve been waiting for, to correct the comical Misspelling of “BAR-BE-QUE” at the top.  It should have been “BAR-BE-CUE.”  

Mr. Thom Richardson (Mktg. Director 1970’s-2008, since deceased) took responsibility for the mistake.  Always funny, he turned it around, saying “I like the Q better anyway.”  

Changing the Q to a C, will match the other Pylon Signs at Skidaway, Waters, and Hwy. 80.
