We’re excited to announce the rolling-out of Contactless Payments.  It’s fast, convenient, and SAFE (touchless).  Below, I’ll answer a few FAQ’s on the new payment devices.

Currently available at: Abercorn and Hwy. 80.  Remaining stores coming soon!

What types of Contactless Payments do we accept?

All kinds:  Including ApplePay, GooglePay, SamsungPay, FitbitPay, or any Bank NFC.  Using these, you select your payment on your Smart-Phone, hover above the Reader, and blam!!-payment made! 

Why is it safer? 

Because during the Pandemic, the less you touch – the better.   Paying at Carey Hilliard’s, you don’t need to touch anything – No signature and no questionable / scary Pin-pad.

Why did we switch from swiping cards, to chipping?

1.  More security:  Chip Readers use point to point encryption, so they’re more secure, because the data is never decrypted at the Store-level.  When your card is inserted, a chip inside each Reader encrypts the card data, sends it directly to the processor. 

2.  It’s faster:  Chip processing has become faster over the past 2 years, and now is faster than the old-way of swiping a card.
